Airplanes, terror and things that go bump in the night

Sweden's very own Jan Guillou puts the british terror-scare in rare perspective:

"Tvivel och sund skepsis är just nu enda fungerande självförsvar."

("Doubt and healhty scepticism is now the only working self-defence.")
And referring to Usama is just like calling on the gods to fix up the last act of the comedy. It was a good device once, but it's not working anymore.

My prediction: when a rough estimate of the truth is known, this will be like the other semi-manufactured terror plots. Two guns were seized, quite a lot of people were "detained", nobody will be sure how all that "liquid explosives"-talk got started.

I for one believe completely in your prediction. So much nonsense. Btw, the regulation against liquids in hand luggage is pretty silly, don't you think? I mean, it's quite easy to make cookie-shaped semtex clots, put them in a Maryland-carton and get through security with no probs. When I left Stansted this sunday there were no bomb-sniffers and they didn't check solid foodstuffs...And almost everyone had a mobile phone (detonator).
